This is a remote position. The Senior Cyber Security Engineer provides advanced leadership in designing and implementing solutions to mitigate sophisticated security threats. It leads critical incident response and forensic investigations while developing custom security monitoring configurations. The role also guides and mentors junior staff and influences overall security strategy. It is pivotal in shaping UW Medicine's security posture through proactive threat modeling. Candidates with EPIC certification are highly desired and preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities: • Lead complex security assessments and forensic investigations. • Design and implement advanced security tools and custom monitoring configurations. • Serve as an escalation point for critical security incidents and guide risk mitigation strategies. Requirements • 6+ years of cybersecurity experience with deep expertise in threat modeling and incident response. • Advanced knowledge of NIST, ISO, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and SOC standards. • Proven experience with scripting and security automation.
